I have seen some gorgeous spring wreaths on Pinterest and Etsy lately. Seeing these beauties inspired me to head to Michael's and get some supplies to make my own. Our front door is pretty boring and the color of our door is hands-down ugly. Unfortunately the home owners association regulates the color of our front doors, so I can't do anything about it except add a pretty wreath and dress it up. Call it karma, kismet or just good luck, but Michael's sent me an email with 50% off of all ... View Post
Repurpose a Sentimental Gift
One of my very best friends had a beautiful apron made for me five years ago. It was a bridal shower gift and it has my monogram embroidered on it. It is really beautiful, and the first gift I received with my married monogram. I have always loved this apron-so much so, that I used it often and eventually stained it so badly that it just sat in a closet for the past two years. I have always wanted to repurpose this apron since I hated the idea of throwing away such a sentimental gift. When ... View Post
Easy Spring Salad- Apple, Walnut and Blue Cheese Spring Salad with Apple Cider, Dijon Vinaigrette
My philosophy on recipes- they are simply a suggestion. The reality is- I usually don't have all the ingredients called for in a recipe, so I substitute with what I have. Beautiful Lamp Transformation
I am so excited to share this beautiful lamp transformation with you all! Does it bother anyone else that homes are not built with overhead lighting anymore? The house I grew up in had overhead lights (and ceiling fans) in every room. That meant you could flip on the switch by the door of any room and the light hanging from the ceiling would magically come on. I think every home I have lived in that was build post-1990 has lacked overhead lighting. Maybe it is a regional thing- I grew up ... View Post
Cherry Blossom Pallet Project
My father-in-law is a farmer and since we are coming in to spring, he has a ton of wooden pallets just stacked next to the grain silos. Usually he just breaks them apart and gets rid of them. He says that pallets are made of the worst wood and he is truly surprised that “pallet projects” is trending on Pinterest (Yes, I had to explain Pinterest to my father-in-law, the farmer). While we were at the farm a few weeks ago, I had my husband load two of them in the truck and haul them ... View Post
