Christmas Stove Top Potpourri

I love the smell of Christmas!  This simple Christmas stove top potpourri puts me in such a happy mood.  My recipe is simple to throw together and will make your home smell amazing (like Christmas)!

Christmas Stove Top Potpourri

What you need:Christmas Stove Top Potpourri

1 tablespoon Whole Cloves

1 tablespoon Mulling Spices

1 Orange (including the rind)

1 Apple

1 Cinnamon stick (or a teaspoon of ground cinnamon)

1 cap full of Vanilla extract (optional)

How to make Christmas Stove Top Potpourri:Christmas Stove Top Potpourri

You can use any size pot you’d like.  I use my small sauce pot.

Fill the pot about 3/4 full with water.

Cut the apple into slices that fit your pot.  If you are using a larger pot; simply cut the apple in half.

Peel the orange and break apart the slices.  Put all of the slices as well as the rind into the pot of water.

Add all the rest of the ingredients.

Turn your stove on low and let the potpourri simmer.  Check occasionally.

As the water evaporates, keep adding more water.  Make sure you don’t loose too much water as the apple, oranges and spices will burn if too much water evaporates.

Your house will smell amazing!!  When you are ready to take the potpourri off of the stove, let it cool and then pour the entire thing into a container with a lid.  This can go right into your fridge and you can reuse it!  I usually reuse mine for about 3 or 4 days.

Enjoy this Christmas season!
