Gorgeous Spring Wreath

I have seen some gorgeous spring wreaths on Pinterest and Etsy lately.  Seeing these beauties inspired me to head to Michael’s and get some supplies to make my own.  Our front door is pretty boring and the color of our door is hands-down ugly.  Unfortunately the home owners association regulates the color of our front doors, so I can’t do anything about it except add a pretty wreath and dress it up.

Call it karma, kismet or just good luck, but Michael’s sent me an email with 50% off of all floral stems plus an additional 20% off coupon.  70% off is a DEAL!  Spring Wreath Supplies

I ended up buying a ton of stems, but the following were used for this tutorial.

Supplies:
Grapevine wreath $3.99
2 stems of spring hydrangeas $2.79 ea
3 stems of sunset fields (white Heather) $1.59 ea

1 stem of white amaranths $1.99

I also used the following supplies that I already had.
Scissors
Wire snips
Floral wire
Floral tape

I started by laying out all of my stems and playing around with them until I found an arrangement that I liked.  I poked the stem through the grapevine wreath and secured it with the floral wire.  I then cut the excess stem hanging out of the back of the wreath.  Because I had 2 hydrangea stems, I used floral tape and taped them together since I wanted it to look like one large flower.  Spring WreathAfter I had everything in place, I began manipulating the individual stems (mainly the heather) and secured parts of those with additional wire to keep it in place exactly where I wanted.

I used a contact hook to hang the wreath on the door and secured it with more floral wire.

Not including the supplies I already had, I only spent about $15 to make this beautiful spring wreath.  Hope this gives you some inspiration for a gorgeous spring wreath.

Update

I updated this wreath just a bit for Memorial Day and kept this on my front door through the 4th of July. It looked beautiful and patriotic with just the simple addition of a burlap bow and a few American flags. I love how versatile this spring wreath was.  It was so easy to transition this wreath from spring to summer with the simplest tweaks!

This DIY Spring Wreath easily transitioned to a beautiful simmer wreath with the addition of a burlap bow and a couple of American flags.
