Easter Wreath: A Unique Decoration for Your Door

Easter is right around the corner and I am ready!  I know I keep saying it, but I’ll say it again, I am so over this cold weather.  I can’t wait for warm weather, blooming flowers and green grass.  Easter is always the beginning of Spring for us.  We might get a snow shower before Easter, but never after Easter!  I am getting in the Easter spirit with this Eater wreath, that isn’t really a traditional wreath, but is a unique decoration for your door!I love this unique Easter Wreath!

This Easter wreath is easy to make and even the most beginner crafter can accomplish this.  You don’t need many supplies and I will walk you through step-by-step how to create this Happy Easter sign.

How to Make an Easter Wreath

Begin by painting your wooden plaque whatever base color you’d like with the acrylic paint.  I found my wooden plaque at Michael’s after Easter last year.  It was on clearance (woo hoo)!  But I have seen adorable wooden bunnies and carrots on Amazon.

Allow for the base color to completely dry and then begin decorating the wooden cutout. Since I had an egg, I decorated my wooden plaque like a decorated Easter egg. This Easter wreath is simple to make.

Once the paint has all dried, it is time to cut out the Happy Easter vinyl.

Using your Cricut Explore Air 2, head over to Design Space and type in the text.  Make sure you adjust the size of the words and pick the font you want.

Next, it is time to cut.  Ensure your machine is set to vinyl and begin cutting.  Once your design is cut, weed out the excess vinyl and use the transfer tape to transfer the vinyl onto your wooden cutout.  Using a Cricut to make this Easter wreath makes it super simple.

Once the front of your Easter Wreath is complete, it is time to add a ribbon.  I generally always use ribbon with wire in it because I think the bows look better.  But really, any ribbon you have will work.  Hot glue the ends of the ribbon to the back of the cutout and add a simple bow to the top.  I made a small slit in the back, on the middle of the ribbon…that is where the command hook fits into and holds the sign up.This Easter wreath is so pretty.

If you don’t have a Cricut Explore Air 2, you could also use stickers instead of vinyl.  If you have nice handwriting, you could even paint “Happy Easter” onto your cutout! This Easter wreath is great for interior doors.

This sign can go on your front door or even on an interior door!  I actually moved ours from the front door to the inside of our garage door.  If you are anything like our family, we use our garage door all the time and don’t often see our front door decorations.  Hope this gives you some inspiration to make an Easter Wreath.  Spring is coming and I can’t wait!!

I love this! I plan to make it since I have a wooden egg that I got at Target Dollar Spot! What font did you use? Thanks so. Much for the tutorial!

The font is “Silly Me”. I got it from Creative Market as a free font. It is also the same font as my logo!
