DIY Gifts for Plant Lovers

Happy Spring!  The other day was National Gardening Day, and I made a series of craft projects to celebrate.  These projects would be GREAT DIY gifts for plant lovers.  Each of these could stand alone as a small gift, or combined with other projects for a tiered tray.

If you are new around here, I have an obsession with tiered trays.  They are a great way to decorate seasonally, but not have to change out all of your decor.  Just swap out some items on your tiered tray.  Easy peasy!  I went from Easter to a Garden theme in a matter of minutes!

Here’s how I grouped five DIY gifts for plant lovers into one tiered tray.  I absolutely love how this looks with all the elements together.  Let’s take a closer look at each project.

For all of these DIY gift ideas, I used Chalk Couture.  If you don’t know about Chalk Couture, START HERE.   Chalk Couture makes reusable  stencils (called transfers).  They also make removable chalk paste, permanent ink, surfaces and accessories to make up-scale DIY home decor.

Let’s start with the little trio of houses.  These are PERFECT on their own or in a tiered tray.  The wooden houses are white washed and can be sanded for a more rustic look.  Buy the wooden houses HERE.

I used the April Club Couture transfer on these houses.  This transfer is exclusive to the Club, so you have to join in April to get it!  Want to see exactly how I made these?  I did this project live over on Facebook.  Click THIS LINK to watch the video.  If you are not already in the Facebook group, you can request to join, but make sure you list Allison Robertson as the Designer who invited you.

The next two projects were done using the Life in Full Bloom transfer.   Any of these sayings on a surface would be perfect for a DIY gift for plant lovers.

I used the “Hey Bud” transfer on the 5×5 box frame.  The word “grow” looks great in black chalk paste on a galvanized planter.

This next piece has to be my favorite.  I used the Home is Where My Plants Are transfer with the House Box Frame.  The paste colors used are Eucalyptus, Meadow and Black.

The wood bead garland is adorable with a Chalksuede Tag and the garden tools design.  The  Sunny Vibes mini has a bunch of little designs that are perfect for DIY gifts for plant lovers.  Check it out HERE.
